State Parks
The goal is to visit all of Indiana State Parks. Each time we 'tag' a park, we'll post a few pictures to prove that we've been there.
This is a multi year adventure!
Fort Harrison

May 24, 2008. We have never been to this park and were delighted at the resources it offers, especially the running and hiking trails.
White River

June 3, 2008. Nikki and I tagged this park on a Tuesday Night Date. We parked in the paid parking garage and walked around the grounds. There was a thunderstorm
on the horizon so we didn't stay long.
Mounds

June 8, 2008. Nikki and I tagged this park on a hot and humid afternoon. We visited the Nature Center, walked to the Great Mound, Fiddle Back Mound and the
surrounding earthworks. We drove to the camp store for refreshments. Hiked about 1/3 of Trail #5.
Brown County

September 14, 2008. Nikki and I tagged this park on an oppressive day with the humidity in the high 80s. We parked at the nature center (which was closed - bummer) then hiked trail #6
to Ogle lake and then back.
Ouabache

November 2, 2008. We have never been to this park and didn't know what to expect. The park is east of Bluffton. The centerpiece is Kunkel lake and the miles of hiking and the paved
running and biking trail.
Prophetstown

November 9, 2008. A different state park, kind of flat with hardly any forest. Most of the park is flat with grass land prairie. Great bike and running trail. There's an Indian village
(Prophetstown) that we didn't walk to. We did visit the Gibson farm house and drove around the park. Stopped at the Prairie picnic area.
Shades

November 16, 2008. A very cold and bleak afternoon. The park was closing for a massive deer hunt, so we didn't stay longn. Walked a few meters on Trail #4 and kicked the soccer
ball around. There's a 'back pack' trail through the park that might be an interesting overnight hike for Nikki and I.
McCormicks Creek

November 23, 2008. A cool but sunny afternoon. Walked on Trail 2 to the limestone quarry, to the waterfall, the nature center and the Canyon Inn. On Trail 2, we meet up with a guy
who was geo caching.
Spring Mill

April 11, 2009. We've been to Spring Mill several times. It remains my favorite park. Nikki bought some persimmon pudding and we picked up a geocache.
Shakamak

August 22, 2009. We paid our $5 entry fee at 5:30pm. We had never been to this park before so we spent some time driving and walking around. Hiked along Trail #1 to a
geocache at N 39° 10.916 W 087° 14.449, played softball. Left at 8:30pm.
Clifty Falls

October 25, 2009. Spent a few hours exploring the trails to Big Clifty Falls and the area around the Inn. Didn't realize this park was so close to the Ohio river.
