I follow the Mad Cacher on twitter. He’s an Indianapolis based geocacher with a website devoted to the sport. Last week he sent out a tweet asking for 300 word articles on any topic related to geocaching. Accepted articles would become content on his Mad Cacher web site .
I wrote up a 300 adventure story themed on a recent caching trip that Stevie and I took to Spring Mill State Park. It’s really a flash fiction piece, since 300 words is quite condensed for a story. The article was accepted and I was paid $10 for the effort. I will most likely buy a 6 pack of the new Bud Light Wheat beer with the earnings.
How cool is this! I’m a professional author now! At least according to Steven King, who famously said that a professional author is one who gets paid for his stories. Ha!
So my first official published story is here.
That is awesome, Dad!!! Very intense story! Love The Kuhn_Man! Lol. Love you Dad!
Thank you Jacob… I’m working on another story about not leaving your spare batteries in the car when you are hiking the Low Gap trail. Love you Jacob!
Well I was happy to publish it. It’s a great story. Thanks again for allowing me to publish it and I look forward to more from you.
